Solid Freijó slat boards, a light, teak-look Brazilian hardwood milled with tongue-and-groove edges for ceilings, walls and covered outdoor areas.

Freijó grows in the Brazilian Amazon and belongs to the Cordia family, the same genus as Bocote. Its heartwood ranges from light golden to medium brown with darker streaks, close enough to teak and mahogany that boatbuilders use it as a lighter, more stable substitute, and luthiers use it for acoustic guitar tops and bodies. Brazilian furniture makers have prized it since the mid-century modern era for the same reasons: straight grain, a soft natural luster and exceptional dimensional stability. It is the easiest wood in our line to cut, glue, stain and finish, and it holds its shape in air-conditioned interiors where denser species move.
