Prefinished solid Ipê flooring, the densest commercial hardwood in the Americas, in the deep brown tones the U.S. market calls Brazilian Walnut.
Ipê is the wood of the Coney Island boardwalk, where it took 25 years of foot traffic and salt air before replacement. Brazil supplies more than 90% of the world's Ipê. The heartwood ranges from reddish brown to olive brown and blackish brown, sometimes striped, with fine texture and a Janka rating of 3,490 lbf. It is so dense it sinks in water and needs no finish to resist decay; the factory finish is there for looks and cleaning, not protection.
