Deep chocolate brown decking with fine golden streaks: solid Sucupira boards dried and milled to US sizes.

Sucupira (Bowdichia nitida and related Diplotropis species) comes from the Amazon, where it is a heavy-construction wood used for bridges, railway ties and dock work. It is close to Cumaru in hardness but lighter in weight, with a darker and more uniform color than Ipê or Cumaru. In the US it is sold as Brazilian Chestnut. Naturally durable and termite resistant, it weathers to silver gray if left bare. Not listed under CITES.
